Karate

Karate is a Japanese martial art whose physical aspects seek the development of defensive and counterattacking body movements. The themes of traditional karate training are fighting and self-defence, though its mental and moral aspects target the overall improvement of the individual. (www.tulani.edu)

Karate may be defined as a weapon less means of self-defence. It consists of dynamic offensive and defensive techniques using all parts of the body to their maximum advantage. Karate practice is divided into
Kihon (drilling of stances, blocks, punches, strikes and kicks)
Kata (pre-arranged forms simulating combat situations)
    Kumite(sparring)
(University of Michigan)

So if you want to consider karate as an activity it is an advantage because you will be able to protect yourself with the skills you learn while in the process of participating in this karate act, so although training and adapting skills may be hard, its therefore hard for your own good.
